This time it is a \u201cfamily affair\u201d. Artworks member, Ed Doughty, artist, wood carver, and miniature wood craftsman and his son, David Doughty, a painter, will be showing their work for the month of October. Their exhibition will open Friday, October 3rd at ARTWORKS <em>around town<\/em> in Wheeling\u2019s Centre Market, 2200 Market Street, Wheeling from 5:30 to 8PM.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1108\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/artworksaroundtown.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Doughty-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1108\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1108\" src=\"http:\/\/artworksaroundtown.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Doughty-1-300x233.jpg\" alt=\"Ed Doughty\" width=\"300\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"http:\/\/artworksaroundtown.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Doughty-1-300x233.jpg 300w, http:\/\/artworksaroundtown.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Doughty-1.jpg 765w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1108\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ed Doughty<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ed Doughty is a meticulous craftsman in everything he does, and he pretty much does everything. He is one of those curious people who, when challenged by something he sees or learns about, is fascinated enough to figure \u201cit\u201d out and try to craft it himself. A self-taught craftsman who became a carpenter and cabinetmaker, Ed has perfected the art of miniature wood models, from the 14\u2019 long replica of the Wheeling Suspension Bridge to the minute detail on his many carvings of early fire engines and the tiny trappings of the horses pulling the many carriages he has carved. Ed carves horses with saddles and without. He built his studio, a complete house. He remodeled and redesigned ARTWORKS\u2019 storage room.
