Bev West is one of the newest members of ARTWORKS around town, joining in October 2019. She has a wonderful array of woven items for sale at the Gallery, all of them unique and all of them very popular. Her business is called B. Woven.
West comes from a family of talented artists and crafters including photographers, painters, jewelry makers, paper crafters, seamstresses and needle artists. She fell in love with fiber arts in high school, learning to sew, crochet and knit, then trying sketching and painting, finally moving on to weaving and modern macramé. She loves to add modern elements to traditional crafts and one of her favorite techniques is combining elements of different crafts to come up with unique pieces. These special touches include adding a weaving element to a macramé piece or adding macramé to jewelry.
She enjoys displaying and selling her works at local craft fairs with her talented sisters. See her work at ARTWORKS around town, located in Wheeling’s historic Centre Market. Her gift for fiber artwork is amazing and we look for new and exciting things from her in the future. A Christmas gift from her panel would be a welcome, refreshing one! Hours at ARTWORKS around town are 10 a.m. until 5:30 from Monday until Saturday except for Friday when closing is 6 p.m.ARTWORKS around town is a nonprofit charitable and educational organization that operates a Gallery and Art Center.
